So it all begin with some lovely posts from my friends. Little pieces of pretty fabrics sewn together with care and finesse which I admired and, being truthful, in a small way wished I could do something similar.
And then, one fine day, on a day of glorious days, a parcel, right out of the blue, from a friend, far, far over the sea and inside, sunshine and hope.. a butterfly quilt of a colour dynamic that was nothing other than gloriously uplifting. Such expertise, such colourways, such generosity.
The quilt was marvelled at and shown around the neighbours who confessed that they too had never seen anything like it, the fabrics, the design. The blanket was used as a lap quilt, a nap quilt, a snuggle quilt and then secreted in the Spriglet’s room where it was held to ransom (fairy cakes and a 20 minute backrub bought it back).
So.. could I? Should I? Maybe I could.. I dunno, 5 HOWTODOIT books out of the library and a visit to my favourite independent craft shop and a stash was purchased:
